Chocolate ice cream

  • 420g 1/2 and 1/2 (used vanilla flavored, see result)
  • pinch salt
  • 70g sugar
  • 20 g cocoa powder

bring to boil, add

  • 90g chocolate (72%)

let melt.


  • 1.5 table spoon corn starch
  • 3 table spoon milk

add mixtures, heat until thickens, cool in waterbath, add to ice machine


- pretty good - a bit too sweet (perhaps because of using flavored 1/2&1/2 instead of plain, since it contained sugar) - didn't gain a lot of volume in the ice machine - more like a chocolate mousse, didn't really get solid, even after a day in the freezer
